Hm... [She's trying to understand the logic behind that, but she can't. Not really.] In my line of work, having someone hate me is expected. There's really nothing I can do about it, and I don't mind. What's the part of being hated that makes you scared about it?
If people hate me... They might ignore me. It might be like I never existed at all... [She trails off, frowning, twisting her fingers together.]
That's-- That's the worst thing that could happen. I guess... [She trails off uncertainly]
B-but, you must be a lot stronger than me. A lot of people are, s-so that's not really surprising, I guess, haha... It's fine! It's really just fine. I'm used to this! [She seems to be really trying to reassure Naoto about this rather than acknowledge her own terrible views on this]
Being ignored, huh... [Well, she knows that feeling.]
... There will be people that do value your opinions and your person. You'll worry less about getting people to like you and cherish those that respect you. But, that comes with respecting yourself first.
"I barely had a chance to look around before the festival began," Patchouli said, "but it seems that you might be in luck. Which is great, because I feel I'll spend a lot of my time there as well."
Of course, if there wasn't, she'd have establish one, somehow. Possibly printing whatever books the Prismals have written herself, somehow or another. Would that even have been that popular? Thus far, she didn't really understand them too well.
While Joker might not only be the only member of his team in this world, and unable to steal the creature's heart, this behavior that was leading to the death of others would not stand. Also this surely was not Ren the quiz boy, don't be silly.
While not looking like he typically did, a small pair of blackish wings around his waist, too small to properly fly, and ears that seemed stuck between being those of a fox and humans, the deep voice of the Persona user echoed nearby to Naoto's position, standing perfectly on the top of a lamppost. The reddish gloves had a bit of pointed ends to them, the claws unable to poke through, more subdue due to the fact he hadn't taken his bracelet off.
That wouldn't stop him from making a show, however. "You, who disgustingly use your powers to prey upon the weak...I will remove your distorted desires without fail!"
"If you wouldn't mind some company? If you'd prefer to be alone, I can find another pool."
At least Hifumi's of a mind to respect other people's personal space, in the absence of a clear invitation. No awkward prodding sessions here (among other things, that would just be rude).
She wasn't the only one, it looked like: Amid countless others using baby talk, pieces of chocolate and trying to push more robust-looking dragon babies (though it's more like trying to push a car than a small creature, judging by the grunting) was Kanji clapping his hands before a wriggling baby covered in yarn, more interested in chewing the wool than listening.
[Akechi had also come prepared to blend with the rich crowd, and is hanging near the buffet when Naoto approaches. Unlike their last meeting, he's feeling much more prepared to speak to someone he respects right now, and greets her with a polite nod of the head.]
Good evening. Would you like some recommendations on the buffet?
[It was all about subtlety: Ask questions, get answers, pick up the crumbs and follow them. But as Takeshi settled into a seat, lounged and polished off the last of a very purple drink. He let it sit on his tongue as he took the time to settle as if it were just another job.
Then, slouching with his elbows on his knees, he kept his tinted gaze on the party rather than the boss.]
All clammed up, Yamamoto... -sama. Nobody's sellin', neither.
[He drummed his fingertips over the highball glass.]
These guys really know how to make you feel welcome...
[ minako had done some basics for disguise. let her hair down from its usual ponytail and given it a blowout, stowed her headphones in a clutch bag along with other necessities, put on some tinted glasses that had vanished over the course of the night--
but none of that really matters now. "luna kadokawa" has grabbed...a pool cue? and hikes up the bottom of her cocktail dress, retrieving her evoker from where it's strapped to her thigh. to her temple, and with the same sound of a bang and shattering glass as mitsuru or any of her other teammates' summonings: ]
Descend, Metatron! [ she feels a protective shield wrap around herself invisibly, as a towering metal angel manifests between her and naoto and the big ugly fucker flying around up there. a glow-laced bullet harmlessly bounces off of her, and with a look to the woman next to her-- ]
[Don't mind this random woman appearing from nowhere in a Dimension Door, dressed warmly to match the smile and arms out to help lighten the load the detective carried.]
You look to be on a mission. Does it keep the cold away from your bones, dear?
[Kanji could only do so much when he'd taken a spill after making a wrong turn during his icecapades, gliding along into a snow bank. But it seemed to be for the better after soundly kicking the crap out of his competition: He was laughing when he emerged, covered from head to toe in powder as he struggled his way over to his girlfriend, walking strangely on the ice skates over the snow.]
[His heart raced in newfound excitement. The nest was ready with pillows, blankets, and so many trinkets he may or may not have stolen from so many places. But he won them fair and square, defeating any who demanded he give back the items! With so many of his rivals defeated, this piece of self-made heaven all but glittering with fancy pens, radios, model robots and even ornate tins of fine teas, he was prepared.
Stepping to the edge of the treeline, he opened the wings that sprouted from his back, big and black ending in those wicked claws. They grasped the bark for balance as he sucked in a breath and tapped into that wellspring of chroma.
Kanji was normally a fairly loud guy who could carry on the wind. But when you had a magic voice, you could belt for miles and hope- pray- that his other half was out there somewhere. She swam through his dreams, his thoughts... surely she would accept his invitation:]
I should have known better Than to let you go alone It's times like these I can't make it on my own-
[He tore away at the remains of his tattered shirt, ruined from the sudden development of his moonblessed wings. Without that cotton, he could let nothing but the setting sunlight paint over his bared skin.]
Wasted days, and sleepless nights An' I can't wait to see you again...!
Though Kanji and herself had moved to Lyestellus, there were just some things that couldn't be found in the mountain city. Not that this was peculiar - different regions, different climates, and different wares as a result. Of course, not long after she's arrived had something... odd began again. Apparently, crops had suddenly be stricken as well by some unknown plague and Naoto was more or less forced to return on the Comet.
... But not before pocketing a raspberry truffle with a liquer center mixed in with the sudden abundance of sweet treats. Something Halloween-related she assumed and carried on, riding back without much consideration in any further regards, reading her book without a care. Normally she didn't indulge in horror, but erotica featuring your usual supernatural entities weren't so bad... just mostly.
Off the Comet and onward towards home, she soon arrived emptied handed.
It was a change Kanji had to make, too. He liked his own genre of books and loved the time they shared reading together, the evenings drifting off into a peaceful din. But sometimes those books got a little dirty and as much as he understood why they were like that, he wondered if prismals suffered chafing at least once in their life.
His thoughts were worried lately. He'd been doing what he could to comfort Konoha and Gonta at the Farmstead as their carefully-tended crops rotted away, did what he could to stretch what food they had. For days he let his belly complain as he reduced his own portions, made sure Naoto ate. But he wondered how long even that would last. How long until Lyestellus would be hit?
How soon, perhaps, until people turned on each other...? God.
He heard the door close, the voice call and he turned. The smile was easy to form as he crossed into the living room. All those worries could wait.
"Welcome home! I'll get started on dinner; I was thinkin' ochazuke..."
Gumshoe
I'll think about it. I don't mind treating it as any other day.
Anyway, we should focus on the task at hand.

This way then. We'll work on keeping the residential area clear so the others can focus on locating the core.
