Sometimes, I want to take your photo while you're working or doing something about the house. However, I'm never certain how well you would react if I did that; also, how it could be perceived as inappropriate to do so especially if we're out in public like today.

[He blinked at her. Invasion of his privacy? Sure... but... she also didn't need to tell him any of this. The Detective Prince stayed her hand for his privacy.]

...Y-ya... ya really want that?

[What line was it he'd seen somewhere once? 'I'd pay a small salary for you to barge in on every aspect of my life'?]

I mean, I know what I said earlier, but... if pictures of me really don't bother you, then... then it's okay. Like... i-it's okay if they're only for you.

[He was her boyfriend, not a case. She couldn't treat people like that... not always.]

[His question made her nod and she looked up at him, fingering her camera awkwardly while waiting for him to say what he needed.]

... Why would pictures of you bother me?

Heh... [He rubbed the back of his head.]

Well... I mean, I know I said 'rugged', but in my experience I don't really look good in pictures.

[He paused, tightened his jaw briefly, and reached for his own device tucked away in his pocket.]

N-not like you: Seein' ya in magazines and on TV n' all, then seein' ya up close and I feel my socks pop off...!

I'd- I'd like some pictures, too!

[Then, with a small lean for privacy and a blush, he lowered his voice for:]

Maybe some more when you're Iris...?

[She blushed.]

It's a matter of perspective. Personally, I abhor my photos in magazines and seeing myself on TV. It's why I rarely do interviews; that, and the less exposure I have the better for work.

If you want to take personal photos, you may.

[And now her face turned even darker.]

... Only if I get some while you're Sanguis.

Deal. I'll even pose for ya.

[Such a goddamn Sanguis sometimes. Or was Sanguis simply perfect for Kanji? But that wasn't on the mind as he stepped closer and raised his phone, prepared for a little selfie with her right now.]

...And turned to kiss her cheek as he hit the button.]

[Smiling for the photo, she was ready...]

[... And then her eyes widened at Kanji's kiss.]

[Perfect. He looked at the result and beamed.]

Oh, man... I love it! You're right, candid shots are awesome. Here, I'll send you a copy!

[Meanwhile, she just turned redder.]

A-Ah yes... thank you. [Ahh, she probably looked terrible.]

[A couple of menus, and... sent! He went to pocket the device again, and couldn't fight the shiver that worked its way down his back. He supposed he'd been out long enough in the snow.]

Done n' done. ...I think I'm up for a hot chocolate so I can thaw out a little. The slush is goin' down my back...

[She checked the image the moment she got it; not too bad, but still...]

... Alright. A small coffee sounds good, or perhaps a cappuccino.

Oh man... d'you know where we can get any of those? I heard if you ask a pro they can make a hot chocolate real frothy like a cappuccino and even put some coffee in it!

[Seemed the folk here were more a 'make your own' sort of deal, but he wasn't exactly a barista. Like at all.]

It's possible somewhere in the marketplace. Unfortunately, it's so busy I'm not sure about going back...

[She'll just get lost again.]

...Yeah, true. We did kinda come with a whole shit ton of people and they're probably stockin' up.

[They could wait out the rush. But until then... he knelt down to change his shoes.]

Maybe we can get up to somethin' together until it all settles down. I feel bad havin' ya check things out from the sidelines!

[They were lucky this was already a vacation spot; otherwise, resources might be an issue.]

It's alright, I chose to be on the sidelines. Hm... We could go for a walk.

[He beamed.] Walkies!

[Then he froze, turned bright red, and settled down with a hand to the back of his head.]

I-I mean, uh... yeah. A walk sounds great.

[... Naoto tried to keep a straight face and she did really well, but there was a small curve to her lips at his exclamation.]

Sure, let's go for a walk.

[He nodded and offered a hand. Because why not be lewd while taking a walk through crystal forests?

The other itched behind the glove. That strange box from the Ware Wolf Shop was burning a hole in his pocket. Would... would soon be a good time to give her a present?]

[Laughing softly, she accepted his hand. This would be nice; and their friends would be spared some photos.]

[... Kanji seemed a little tense, but perhaps that was from his fall. If it remained ongoing, she'd ask then.]

[He could go ice skating, take on the obstacle course or even get stuck in a snow drift for a bit while his girlfriend took pictures, but it was all worth it if he could just take an easygoing walk with her.

The snow had been falling for some time now, bringing with it a muted atmosphere, a quiet world of glimmering trees and festivities the closer one drew to civilization. For now, the world settled into merrymaking, all thought of exploring the world put temporarily on hold.

It cleared his mind to focus, turn inward and gather a bit of power from the Sanguis blessing. A little warmth, maybe, to warm and dry his back of the slush and dry his undershirt all the while... pardon the fact that he's a grown man emitting a bit of steam from his collar.]

[Walking along, Naoto appreciated the quiet snowfall. It was one thing to be in the city, but sometimes, there's a relief getting away from it all. Lunatia, the holidays, the crowds, they're not out here - it's just herself and Kanji making a small trail for themselves away from other people.]

It'll be nice... when we finally return to Inaba.

[Inaba... how long'd it been since he heard the word spoken aloud? Everyone talked about going home and finding a way home, but nobody really talked about it.

Naoto had said 'when', not 'if'. That was pretty cool. He believed they'd return home someday, too.]
